"Far Travel" - The Scifi Adventure

Som i nok er bekendt med har vi haft et par foreningsgange hvor vi er begyndt med en Campaign, dertil er det blevet besluttet at fortløbigt bliver der kørt "Far Travel".

"Far Travel" er et åbent ended sandbox spil, der vil være mere forkus på simulering og den narrative del af spillet, selvom spil systemet der bliver brugt er GURPS vil det ikke være hensigtsmæssigt at ligge alt for meget energi i selve GURPS reglerne.

I "Far Travel" er det kendte univers under kontrol af den menneskelige føderation, som styrrer samtlige systemer, dog er deres kontrol stærkes desto tættere man kommer på "hjertet" af det kendte. Det vil sige at kontrol i yder-zonen er af patroljerende "Destroyers" som der er færre og færre af desto længere du kommer ud af universets "kerne".

Spillerne er ombord på Falcon 37892 som de ejer. Dette skib bliver brugt til mange forskellige ting, både som transport, bjergningsskib og mange andre ting.

Til "Far Travel" bliver der brug GURPS, dertil som de fleste er bekendt med er der store restriktioner i forhold til valg under "character creation".

Points:
  • 50 til stats
    -20 til stats (som du ikke [direkte] har forøget)
    100 til advantages (taget fra nedstående liste)
    -50 til disadvantages
    50 til skills
    70 til fri fordeling
Den observante vil hurtigt se at antal minus points er lig med point til fri fordeling, de -50 i disadvantages skal man bestræbe sig på at opnå, disadvantages der derfor får en over de -50 vil man derfor ikke få points fra, og hvis man er -5 fra de -50 må man så blive nød til at fjerne points der ellers var til fri fordeling.

Advantages med "!" skal der tales med GM, om ikke andet er det et planlægnings perspectiv eller om hvordan og hvorledes... Dertil skal det siges at GM frit kan fratage dig retten til dem, de skal ses som "special cases"
"!!" eller flere udråbs tegn skal du have en meget meget god grund til at have adgang til.
Hvis man har interesse i advantages som ikke stå nævnt kan man spørge om kan få adgang til dem, du bør dog ikke forvente det som en selvfølge.

Disadvantages:
  • Tal ALTID med GM
Equipment:
  • 75,000"$" or "credits"
I "Far Travel" er man teknisk set i tech level 11, desvære er det ikke alle steder, spillere har derfor nogen restriktioner i forhold til valg af gear, som en tommelfinger regl er våben og armor fra tech level 9 eller mindre i orden, weird science er dog ikke og bør man derfor undgå.
På mange andre områder er tech level 10 udstyr i orden, men for at være sikker så kør det lige igennem GM så du ikke skal side og lave det hele om.

"Far Travel" started with the player group (The Captain, Engineer, Doctor, Scientist and Security) having docked at Freeport 92034 in Sector 05. While onboard the group accepts 3 assignements.
  • Assignment 1: Bring a crate with unknown materials to Aaron McNeal in AEC Holdings on Aeltro in Sector 02
    Assignment 2: Bring Anna Goranna to the Medical Bay on Hilmdir371 in Sector 03
    Assignment 3: Bring Joran Nethalie to Sector 01
After having loaded the crate and Anna Goranna along with medical equipment for her, Joran arrives and being rather insistant that the Falcon37892 leaves at the time 2100 hours. As they get some distance to Freeport 92034 it explodes, doing some damage to Falcon37892 before they commence their warp towards Sector 04.

The Survivors of the Freeport 92034 incident arrive at Sector 04, they dock at the nearest space station which is Free Port 89414. However they quickly find that the entire facility is running on automated systems, a bit on edge by the fact that the large space station seems to be without personel nor visitors the station is explored. They find several ships that have docked and several issues with equipment as they wander about.

After finding a Federation Destroyer in dock 13 they decide to take a look at the ship. While they are dodging patrolling security bots they are able to remove two smaller point laser from the ship, however it seems the rest of the ship is un a sort of lock down and its automatic defence system is still active, as such they leave the ship alone and go back to their ship.

When getting back to their ship, they scan the area and find that it is filled with nanobots. Back on their ship they disable the nanobots with EMP shock treatment. Getting their hand of these nanobots they find that they are made of a special material that seems to melt the nanobot if you were to try and dismantle it. As such they are unable to directly link it to anyone.

Back on the station they quickly go to the medical facility, there they discover that ALL medical equipment has been removed and the logs have been cleared. After discovering this they head for the command center. After hacking the security system they enter to find an almost empty marine battle armor, its empty besides for some fluids inside, the doctor analyses the fluid to discover that its human origin. They then go on to attempt hacking the protocols to force access information about what has happened.
  • Several hours before the outbreak with the first person on the station a "special" Federation Ship left
    During the outbreak it seems that someone or something has been moving around clearing logs
    During the outbreak someone has escaped to a supposed "empty" dock (which is now closed cause of a breach)
They move towards the engineering bay to get equipment to repair the ships hull and maybe some things to equip their new lasers. In the bay they find a small group of "survivors". After some quick words they continue to find the station core, however they find it destabelized, and quickly decide to get out of there.

They reach the ship and set off (brute forcing the emergency exit override). As they get out of the station it seems to have a melt down as it throws the Falcon 37892 about in space...

Later... They reach the orbital station on Haldros for repairs. After repairs and recharge they warp towards Sector 03 with their deliveries...

During their warp towards Sector 03, they get dragged out into normal space. Two Federation Destroyers seem to have been in kontakt with hostility, small part from other ships seems to flout around. The Falcon 37892 is "asked" to dock to one of the Destroyers. Before docking the players make sure to stow away Joran Nethalie who seems to always be accompanied by "the beast" holding a gun to his head and the mystirious crate. Once they dock, a detachment of Marines enter the ship and detain the crew.

The crew is then asked some questions why they are there, who they are and why they decided to blow up two freeports... This is further aggravated by the fact that the crew gives very different answers to ALL of the above. The crew is then put into a lock up.

While in the lock up the players is rocked a bit about as explosions can be felt on the destroyer, after a short while the doors are opened cause of a security override. The crew creeps out of their cells towards the security room. When the room comes into view they see the Marines being hard pressed against what looks to be rebels attacking them. The fight end suddenly when a grenade lands in the middle of the Marines. After a short conversation with the rebels the crew is lead to the hangar of the Destroyer. As they enter the hangar the Destroyer is once again hit with another explosion, this time its the boarding ship that the rebels used. The crew decides to let the rebels that lead them to The Falcon 37892 onboard as they try to override the hangar gate, this task only made harder as Marines start pouring into the hangar bay.

Just in the nick of time the Falcon 37892 escapes the Destroyer, as they leave for meteorite and trash concealment they notice a non-federation battleship taking up the fight with the Destroyers. The crew quickly engages the warp drive and they escape from the combat zone.

Arriving in Sector 03, there is a noticible increase in security from the Federation. The Falcon 37892 makes haste for the orbital station of Hilmdir371. When arriving to the planet they notice something amiss, it has basicly been deleted from the star map, its a planet where terraforming "failed". On closer inspection of the planet they notice that it has been tactically bombed, the land on the planet and take samples of the earth. One of the rebels on their ship takes a look at the data and confirms that there are traces of a nuclear explosion.

They then travel to Freeport 74642, where they discuss their situation Anna Goranna, who seems to be wanted by the Federation. While on the Freeport they notice that they have been blamed for the destruction of two freeports aswell as two Federation Destroyers. The group decide to keep their passenger onboard. And pick up another, going by the name of Wilkar. After disassembling a tracking device from the ships hull they embark for Sector 02.

During the warp for Sector 02 several things happen (one main thing). Earlyer the "coma" patient opened her eyes and seems to register what was going on around her, now she fully awakes and is able to move around - after discussing this for some length they come to terms with it and keep her onboard, atleast until the rebels leave the ship...

Sector 02 in itself was relatively uneventful, they delivered the unknown crate to AEC holdings on the planet Aeltro. After recharging the warp they embarked for Sector 01...

However, onboard the ship was an entirely different matter...
  • Anna had produced research material about the bombing of Hilmdir371 (and weaponization of Anti-Matter)
    The ship was threatened to be blow to bits, by a passenger/crewmember/(how do you want to describe them?)
    A passenger/crewmember/(how do you want to describe them?) onboard had his leg shot off
    Joran bare handed, subdued a passenger/crewmember/(how do you want to describe them?) in power armor
    Joran made a bid for the research that was produced, and it was agreed to do it once he was off the ship
Ofc everything was discussed in the end and there is "peace" (relatively), Anna i currently staying in Scientists lab making reports about different subjects (which all seem to be highly classified).

The Falcon 37982 dock at Freeport 55471, and as the crew has noticed the security is getting more and more advanced, in Sector 02 the Federation started having gunships close to planets and stations. In Sector 01 they are litterally floating about. Hence the ship dock at the nearest station available.
  • Wilkar gets off without too much hassle and pays the remainder of the fee.
    Joran gets off with the promise of inviting to a meeting to negotiate the price of the research.
After a few hours Joran and the head of the crew meet, negotiate and a price i settled and all of the crew sign non-disclosure contracts. All but one copy is given to Joran and the crew is payed 2billion credits for the research, the last copy residing on the scientists computer, which is part of the agreement.

Some hours later the command of the ship quickly disembark from Freeport 55471, just in time to avoid getting caught in the explosion as yet another Freeport is destroyed, the Falcon 37982 then hides itself until its able to warp away.

Before commencing the warp for Sector 02, they recieve a news report where they are now called the "Freeport Assassins", for destroying three freeports in total...
